Due to customer requests, we have decided to offer lavalier microphones for wireless microphone systems. We always recommend headset microphones for fitness, but there has been a demand for lavalier microphones. There is an increase of instructors teaching streaming fitness classes, or pre-recording classes to air later, lavs will work in this type of application.
Due to COVID-19, some instructors are teaching with masks on and would prefer to clip a microphone to their shirt. We typically do not recommend lavs for group exercise. There is not a 'sweat rated' lav microphone. There are only lav microphones adapted to the fitness market. Also, lav microphones have a different pickup pattern than a standard microphone. Lavalier's are also known as a lav, lapel mic, clip mic, body mic, collar mic, neck mic, or personal mic.
